On 3 July, a nostalgic evacuee tour is being organised in Heinola as part of the Päijät-Hämeen Päheet Museot museum week. During the day, a 1938 Chevrolet HS Special 15J restored by the Päijät-Häme motorists will operate from the Käkisalmi Museum, offering guided tours of the areas in Heinola formerly inhabited by Karelians. The tour destinations include Sinilähde, Myllyoja, Tommola and Veljeskylä, among others. Between tours, the bus can be admired in front of the Käkisalmi Museum.

Travel tickets for a sightseeing tour are being raffled among museum visitors. The destinations have been chosen based on the settlement locations of Karelian evacuees – after the Second World War, Heinola's population almost doubled when evacuees settled in the area.

Cool museums is a joint summer theme week for Päijät-Häme museums, which is celebrated this year from 28 June to 6 July 2025. The week offers culture, experiences and surprises around the region. All the municipalities of Päijät-Häme are involved: Heinola, Lahti, Hollola, Asikkala, Padasjoki, Sysmä, Hartola, Kärkölä and Orimattila. There are 33 destinations involved and during the museum week over 120 events or special days will be organised in the museums. There is a programme for all ages, and especially for families with children.
Dozens of museums and cultural sites are organising a special programme, exhibitions and events for the whole family during the week.
