Published by the Käkisalmi Foundation, the work Postcards from Käkisalmi opens a window into the history and life of this key town on the Karelian Isthmus through unique visual material. Käkisalmi is located at the mouth of the Vuoksi River on the shores of Lake Ladoga, and its history reflects life between East and West. The museum's anniversary exhibition opens up the long and cherished history of the Käkisalmi Festivals

Käkisalmi Museum is opening its doors this year to a special anniversary-themed exhibition that highlights the long and vibrant history of the Käkisalmi Festivals. The exhibition takes the visitor across the decades through images, texts, videos, and a digital scrapbook – all the way from the first festival in 1947 to the present day. Leena Railimo-Saares – continuity and practicality Leena Railimo-Saares has received and acquired a number of Kalevala jewellery pieces throughout her life, each of which is connected to a specific moment or gift. One of her most significant treasures is the Stone Pendant, the lace-like frame of which originates from a silver annular brooch found in the Inari region.
